This week we got a chance to spend some time talking to Aire Atlantica. He currently has a hit collaboration with the group Fight Clvb that has been played all across the world and played by artists such as Afrojack and David Guetta. I've had the pleasure of working with Aire Atlantica a couple times now, check out what he had to say to us below!
Today, I received my confirmation to shoot directly for Minnesota at the Bella Terra Festival. I am very excited to be doing this as he is one of my favorite artists. Having worked with Seven Lions and done remixes for Fenech Soler and Adventure Club, Minnesota is absolutely an artist to watch out for at Bella Terra.
This was the first time myself and Sydney have ever done anything on this scale. In pre-sales alone, the festival sold 22,000 tickets. Knowing that, this was to make for a great time.
It's been awhile since we posted an In Focus, but this week we are featuring Nikolai. Nikolai has been apart of the EDM scene in Albany for quite some time now taking on various projects. At his young age, he is one of the most versatile performers we have interview so far.
Not new to the scene at all, Hazeyy has continued making a statement Taking the stage at various local festivals such as The Come Up and Freedom of Expression, Hazeyy started to take on the task of throwing his own local events. We were able to catch up with Hazeyy at the recent CaveLife party at FuzeBox, check out what eh had to say.
One of the newest CaveLife DJ's to hit the scene is Dash. The protege of Rome Thrasher and Hazeyy, Dash is quickly making a name for himself in the Albany scene. We were able catch up with Dash after his set at Cave Life at the Fuze Box, this is what he had to say.
SAV & Mystereo are a duo that have been taking the EDM scene by storm. Mystereo being the hypeman and SAV being the man behind the music it's a great combination to keep crowds going wild. While they were in town for PeepThis Beat we were able to sit down and talk to them, here's what they had to say to In Focus.
Ceear is one of Albany's latest DJs hailing from the Glens Falls area. Even though he is fairly new to the Albany scene, he has already begun to expand his reach outside of Albany. This reach includes a benefit show where he supplied lighting and DJ'ed to show support. Today we made him the spotlight for In Focus, here's what he had to say.
After the great success of the first Kandi Land, it was a no brainer there would be a second one.
This is the first of a series of interviews of local artists known as In Focus. First person to break into this series is Rome Thrasher. Rome first caught my attention due to his heavy sets covering the range of dubstep, to moobahcore, to trap. Aside from the stacked track lists he chooses to play for every show the energy he brings to the stage is phenomenal.
This past Saturday, Upstate Concert Hall hosted Bro Safari thanks to PeepThis, MASS EDMC, and NV Concepts. This show was by far the most fun I've had at UCH in a very long time...
One of the things I constantly hear at shows is "Woah, that looks expensive". A lot of people ask me what I use out of interest and because they too want to get into photography. I'm going to be using this post to talk mainly about the gear that I use at shows.
It's been roughly six months since we were last at the Oneonta Theater and it was good to be back. Our last time here was for Masquerave during the Fall tour. This time around it was for Tidal Rave.
Last night we had the pleasure of making our way out to Utica for ESCAPE! Escape was the brain child of Lou Malvasi, resident DJ for club Blu. Lou has had the oppertunities to share the stage alongside Fedde Le Grande...
Last night was the first night the Washington Ave Armory was allowed to re-reopen its doors after getting shut down, that's another story all together. But, let's just say I was glad to be back in there shooting. The stage setup was one of my favorites I've seen for a SYFWB. Avid Entertainment and PeepThis did not hold back with this show. With the addition of snow machines, they only added to the great experiences I constantly have at the Armory. Each artist I heard tonight was amazing. I saw gLAdiator at a previous SYFWB and it's good to know that their sets are still incredible. Alvin Risk also had a really good set. Saw Alvin for the first time at Camp Bisco XI and he has been one of my favorite artists since and was really excited to hear he was coming to Albany. Can not wait for the next SYFWB!
My pictures will be up on my facebook page within a few days.
The armory won their case against the city of Albany. Meaning Stuff Your Face With Bass - White Massive is still happening!
Alvin Risk was incredible at Camp Bisco XI last year. I only knew of a few remixes he has done, but knowing he's an OWSLA artist, I knew I couldn't pass up seeing his set. And I'm glad I didn't, he had The Big Tent full of so much energy it was unreal. I seriously can not wait to see him again tomorrow.
